Upon arrival, investigators discovered that two individuals had been struck by gunfire. Marcie Hunt, a resident of Martinsville, was rushed to SOVAH Martinsville Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Another adult male victim was also transported for emergency treatment and later transferred to another hospital, where he remains in serious condition.<\/p>\n<p>As investigators continue to process the scene, interview witnesses, and work toward understanding what led to this devastating incident, the community is left to grapple with shock, sorrow, and unanswered questions.<\/p>\n<p>But beyond the details of police reports and active investigations, there is a life that must be remembered.<\/p>\n<p>Marcie Hunt was more than a name in a headline.
