The community of Bishopville and all of Kershaw County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Reese Autumn Player, whose life was tragically taken  in an accident during the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 12, 2026. At only 22 years old, Reese’s passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable sorrow and the painful reality of losing someone far too soon.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:35 a.m. along S.C. 34 near Favor Road in Kershaw County. Authorities reported that a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 traveling eastbound lost control and overturned multiple times. Reese Autumn Player, identified by the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was ejected during the crash and tragically died from injuries sustained in the accident. The crash remains under investigation by SCHP.
