In Loving Memory of Reese Autumn Player
The community of Bishopville and all of Kershaw County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Reese Autumn Player, whose life was tragically taken in an accident during the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 12, 2026. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:35 a.m. along S.C. 34 near Favor Road in Kershaw County. Reese Autumn Player, identified by the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was ejected during the crash and tragically died from injuries sustained in the accident. The crash remains under investigation by SCHP.
While investigators continue working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the collision, those who knew Reese are choosing to focus on remembering the life behind the headlines — a young woman whose presence mattered deeply to so many.
At 22 years old, Reese Autumn Player was still in the process of building her future, carrying dreams, goals, and hopes that now remain forever unfinished. Her life represented youth, possibility, and the kind of energy that leaves a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether through her smile, her personality, her kindness, or simply the moments shared with friends and loved ones, Reese created memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
The sudden loss of a young life is one of the hardest tragedies a family and community can endure. There are no words powerful enough to fully ease the grief that follows such devastating news. Parents are left mourning a child they loved endlessly, friends are left remembering conversations and laughter that can never be replaced, and an entire community is left trying to understand how someone so young could be taken so unexpectedly.
For those closest to Reese, the coming days will undoubtedly be filled with heartbreak, reflection, and remembrance. Grief often arrives in quiet moments — through photographs, favorite songs, familiar places, and memories that suddenly feel even more precious. Yet amid the pain, there is also gratitude for the time shared with Reese and for the impact she had on the lives around her.
The tragic accident also serves as a solemn reminder of how quickly life can change. Every journey on the road carries uncertainty, and every moment behind the wheel matters. Communities everywhere continue to be reminded of the importance of safe driving, caution, and protecting one another whenever possible.
As Bishopville and surrounding communities mourn this tremendous loss, many are keeping Reese’s family and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers. Support from friends, neighbors, and the community can become a source of strength during times when words alone are not enough.
Although Reese Autumn Player’s life ended far too soon, her memory will continue through the people who loved her most. Her story does not end with tragedy alone — it lives on through every memory shared, every tear shed in love, and every life she touched during her 22 years.
May Reese Autumn Player be remembered not for the manner in which she passed, but for the life she lived, the love she gave, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Rest peacefully, Reese. You will never be forgotten.
